Exploding onto the scene with aggressive vocals and frenetic drums, US artist Godfrey’s ‘Sugar Puss’ is a trippy adventure through pumping synths and acid-tinged instrumentals.
The title is pretty much explanatory of the body-positive lyrics, and it’s a perfect match for the cocky vocals and breathless energy. Switching tempo around the halfway mark for a featured rap from Nitty Scott, this is a mind-bending success, and a statement of intent. Godfrey is here to take over, and I’m ready for it.
