Oklahoma city-based artist Josh Fudge releases the melancholic ‘7 In The Morning’.
Diving right in, the first thing that hits you is the funky soundscape, peppered with wistful strings and delicate percussion.
Fudge’s voice is beautifully smooth, echoing the yearning nature of the concept, and painted with bittersweet nostalgia.
Sentimental and stripped-back, the focus of the track is a spark being re-lit in a relationship, as explained by Josh below.
From the Press Release:
“This song marks my 4th single, and will be included on my upcoming project. It is about a girl who had been in my life for a long time, who I had fallen out with. She began to reach out to me again recently, and would always text me at the most obscure times throughout the day and night.
“One day, I woke up to a message from her at 7 in the morning telling me that she still loved me, while it was pouring rain outside. I wrote this song on that day, and it is meant to encapsulate the melancholy sensation of flirting with the idea of taking up an old flame.”
